How Our Sessions Work
Cake smash sessions usually last about an hour, giving us time to capture a mix of “clean” portraits before the fun begins, the cake smash itself, and then a splashy bubble bath to finish. We’ll start with a simple set so you’ll have some timeless images, then move on to the cake portion where your baby gets to explore, taste, and smash away. Finally, the bubble bath makes for some of the cutest photos- plus it leaves your little one squeaky clean before heading home.
What to Expect
These sessions are designed to be fun and stress-free. Babies may dive straight into the cake or take a little time to warm up- that’s all part of the charm! We'll guide the flow, capture all the giggles and frosting mess, and keep things moving at your baby’s pace. For the bubble bath finale, most little ones absolutely love splashing and playing in the tub, and it gives us another round of natural, joy-filled portraits to finish the session.
What to Wear & Bring
For the “before cake” portraits, simple outfits work best- think classic rompers, a sweet dress, or neutral-toned separates. For the smash itself, many families love dressing their baby in a fun themed outfit, a colourful nappy cover, or even just letting them go bare-bellied with a party hat or bow. We recommend bringing a backup outfit since things can get messy! For the bubble bath, babies are usually photographed in just their natural, happy selves, with maybe a headband or bow for a little extra touch.
